Colonial Airport Parking Nominated for Environmental Award
Lester, PA – Colonial Airport Parking has been nominated for a 2018 Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo Fleet Award, recognizing the company’s efforts to move toward a completely propane-fueled shuttle fleet.
When propane autogas is used in place of conventional fuels like gasoline or diesel, it can reduce greenhouse gases by up to 25%, carbon monoxide by up to 60%, and nitrogen oxide by 20%. In addition to reducing emissions, this non-toxic alternative fuel does not harm soil or groundwater.
Colonial Airport Parking is currently running eight state-of-the-art passenger shuttles fueled by propane autogas, with a goal of fueling the entire fleet with propane by the end of next year.
“By choosing propane, we’ve reduced our carbon footprint, improved our operating efficiency, better served our customers, and prevented local residents from breathing in a lot of unnecessary pollution,” said John Groden, Operations Manager at Colonial Airport Parking.
The annual ACT Expo Fleet Awards recognize industry leaders in clean transportation. Colonial Airport Parking is nominated in the Private Fleet category, for private-sector companies that are going above and beyond to achieve sustainability and green their fleet.
This year’s ACT Expo takes place April 30-May 4, 2018, at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA. Colonial Airport Parking is a finalist for the award. The winner will be announced on May 2, 2018.
